Byers Islands

Byers Islands (52˚34'00" 129˚24'00" W side of Beauchemin Channel, off W side of Aristazabal I). Nothing seems to be known about Lance Cpl William Byers, who was a member of the Columbia detachment of Royal Engineers, which served in BC 1858–63. Formerly known as the Middle Gander Is but renamed by regional hydrographer Henri Parizeau in 1927.
