Calvert Island


Calvert Island (51˚35'00" 128˚03'00" W of entrance of Rivers Inlet), Cape Calvert (51˚25'00" 127˚54'00" S tip of Calvert I). Rugged Calvert I was named by fur trader Capt Charles Duncan of Princess Royal, who spent 10 days at Safety Cove, on Calvert’s E coast, in 1788, cleaning his vessel’s hull.
