Cape Cockburn (49˚40'00" 124˚12'00" Just S of Cockburn Bay), Cockburn Bay (49˚41'00" 124˚12'00" SW side of Nelson I, entrance to Jervis Inlet, NW of Vancouver). RN officer George Cockburn (1772–1853) was a friend of Adm Lord Nelson and his flag capt aboard HMS Minerve, 1796–97. He was later knighted and reached the rank of adm himself.
