Carse Point (52˚55'00" 128˚07'00" N side of Mussel Inlet, N of Mathieson Channel and Bella Bella). Stoker James Gilbert Carse, from Vancouver, was killed in action Oct 22, 1940, aged 21, while serving aboard HMCS Margaree. The RCN destroyer sank on convoy duty in the N Atlantic after colliding with the merchant freighter Port Fairy; 142 crew members were lost. Carse’s name is inscribed on the Halifax Memorial.
