Catface Range (49˚16'00" 125˚58'00" N of Vargas I, NW of Tofino, Clayoquot Sd, W side of Vancouver I). This formation was named in 1861 by RN surveyor Capt George Richards after a large mineral deposit that can be seen from the water and gives the side of the principal mountain the appearance of a cat’s face.
