Chalk Island


Chalk Island (48˚55'00" 125˚19'00" NW end of the Broken Group, Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). William Max Chalk, from New Westminster, was a clerk-stenographer with the Canadian Hydrographic Service. The feature was formerly known as Price I, probably after Capt John Price of HMS Scout, but was changed to Chalk I in 1945.
