Character Cove

Character Cove (48˚53'00" 125˚03'00" NE of Bamfield, Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). UVic students made up a facetious catchphrase—“oceanography builds character”—during intensive research projects undertaken in this cove. The name was adopted in 1985 after being proposed by a student group working at Bamfield Marine Station.
