Chettleburgh Point


Chettleburgh Point (52˚57'00" 129˚09'00" W side of Chapple Inlet, Caamaño Sd). Kathleen Ursula Chettleburgh became a junior (student) draftsperson at the Victoria offices of the Canadian Hydrographic Service in 1942. A proposal to mark additional geographic features with her Christian and middle names was rejected in 1944 by senior mandarins in Ottawa on the grounds that too many staff names had “been used without reasonable discretion.”
