Chimmin Point

Chimmin Point (48˚57'00" 125˚03'00" E end of Tzartus I, NE Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). After a Nuu-chah-nulth First Nation term for a wooden halibut hook. The name of this geographic location, shown on early Admiralty charts as Limestone Point, was changed by the hydrographic service about 1945 to avoid duplication. Chimmin is not necessarily a traditional First Nation name for this particular feature.
