Chivers Point


Chivers Point (48˚57'00" 123˚34'00" N tip of Wallace I, off NE end of Saltspring I, Gulf Is). Jeremiah “Jack” Chivers (1838–1927) came to Canada from Scotland aboard the Cyclone in 1862 and spent many years in the goldfields, travelling to the Cariboo, Cassiar and Omineca districts. In 1889 he received a Crown grant for the southern two-thirds of 80-ha Wallace I (then known as Narrow I) and was listed in the 1901 census as a fisherman.
