Chup Point (48˚57'20" 125˚01'37" N entrance to Alberni Inlet, head of Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Chup, an adaptation of the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nation word for tongue, is descriptive of the shape of the point. It was shown on early Admiralty charts as Nob Point but was changed by the hydrographic service in 1931.
