Clifford Point


Clifford Point (49˚17'00" 126˚02'00" SW end of Bawden Bay, E of Flores I, Clayoquot Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Clifford Bawden was the son of RN officer Charles Bawden, after whom Bawden Bay (qv) is named. Clifford, also an RN officer, entered the navy in 1863 and served on the BC coast, based at Esquimalt, 1890–93, where he was staff cdr aboard the cruiser Warspite, under Capt Hedworth Lambton. The Warspite was the flagship of Rear Adm Charles Hotham, cdr-in-chief of the Pacific Station....
