Collins Bay

Collins Bay (53˚33'00" 128˚44'00" Just inside the entrance of Gardner Canal, S of Kitimat), Collins Point (53˚32'00" 128˚45'00" W entrance to Collins Bay). Lt Cdr William Collins served on the BC coast, 1873–75, in command of HMS Boxer, based at Esquimalt. In 1876 he was directed by the Admiralty to report on the suitability of various BC inlets, including Gardner Canal, as possible termini for the CPR.
