Conglomerate Point


Conglomerate Point (53˚04'00" 131˚51'00" N shore of Cumshewa Inlet, NE side of Moresby I, QCI). Named for its mineralogical characteristics by George M Dawson of the Geological Survey of Canada on an 1878 field trip. Conglomerate is a sedimentary rock made up of small individual stones cemented together. Conglomerate Bluff, Conglomerate Ck and Conglomerate Mtn in northern BC are presumably all named for the same substance. The Haida First Nation name for the point is Q’ayraan T’iis Kun....
