Cooper Cove

Cooper Cove (48˚23'00" 123˚39'00" N side of Sooke Basin, S end of Vancouver I). Edward James Lloyd Cooper (1814–52) was 3rd lt aboard the RN survey vessel Herald, under Capt Henry Kellett (who named this feature), and served on the BC coast in 1846. He took part in the search for Sir John Franklin’s missing Arctic expedition in 1849–51 as a lt on HMS Plover, spending two winters in the far N, at Kotzebue Sd and Port Clarence. W
