Cooper Island


Cooper Island (48˚52'00" 125˚21'00" In the Broken Group, Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Named about 1934 after George A Cooper, who obtained a Crown grant of land at the entrance to Uchucklesit Inlet in 1892. This was the same year that the Barclay Sd Land & Improvement Co announced that it would be developing a new town named Barclay on the inlet.
