Cortes Bay


Cortes Bay (50˚04'00" 124˚55'00" SE side of Cortes I), Cortes Island (50˚07'00" 124˚59'00" Between Quadra I and W Redonda I, N end of Str of Georgia). Cortes I was named after Hernán Cortés (1485–1547), the conqueror of Mexico, by Spanish naval officers Dionisio Alcalá-Galiano and Cayetano Valdes in 1792.
