Cran Shoal (52˚58'00" 129˚45'00" On Cridge Banks, W of Dewdney I, Caamaño Sd). Mary Hills Cridge (1860–1941) was the eldest daughter of Victoria’s pioneer Anglican cleric Edward Cridge. She married James Cran (1848–1920) in 1880; he worked for the Bank of BNA and managed branches at Ashcroft, Barkerville and Dawson City. Mary, who lived near Quamichan Lk for many years and died at Vancouver, took part in the grand old-timers’ reunion held in Victoria in 1924 (see Adams Bay).
