Culloden Point (49˚48'00" 124˚05'00" N side of Jervis Inlet, S of St Vincent Bay, NW of Vancouver). HMS Culloden was a 74-gun, 1,486-tonne ship of the line built on the Thames R in 1783. Under Capt Thomas Troubridge it played an important role at the 1797 Battle of St Vincent, in which Adm Sir John Jervis’s fleet achieved a victory over the Spanish navy W of Cadiz. The Culloden was also present at the Battle of the Nile in 1798. W
