Detwiller Point

Detwiller Point (49˚03'00" 123˚37'00" SE end of Valdes I, Gulf Is). In 1965, L F Detwiller of Victoria, owner of property at this location, applied successfully to have the point named in memory of his parents, Daniel Benjamin Detwiller (1879–1924) and Georgina Edith Wade Detwiller (1887–1939). Detwiller family members arrived in BC in 1924 and visited the Gulf Is on many occasions, becoming particularly attached to Valdes I.
