Dockrill Point


Dockrill Point (49˚18'00" 122˚52'00" NE side of Port Moody, Burrard Inlet, E of Vancouver). Joseph Dockrill (1838–1917), a farmer’s son from Ont, married Maria Cathaline O’Gorman (1840–1909), from Ireland, at Florence, Ont, in 1858. They and their large family settled at this point in 1883, near the proposed terminus of the CPR. Joseph farmed and also operated a shingle mill. Dockrill’s Landing became better known as Sunnyside Landing, and a nearby beach is still known as Sunnyside...
