Doig Anchorage

Doig Anchorage (52˚55'00" 129˚08'00" Entrance to Chapple Inlet, NW side of Princess Royal I). David Doig (1859–1929) was born in Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1882 to work for the Bank of BNA in Montreal and Brantford, Ont. He arrived at Victoria two years later. In 1897 he was at the bank’s Trail and Sandon offices, and the following year he opened its first branch at Dawson City—in a tent.
