Dupont Island

Dupont Island (52˚56'23" 129˚26'23" S entrance to Estevan Sd, Caamaño Sd). Businessman and investor Maj Charles Thomas Dupont (1837–1923) was born in Que and married Margaret Jessie Dupont (1819–1903) at Halifax in 1859. They arrived at Victoria about 1872 after spending some time in the Lk Superior region, where Dupont was an Indian agent.
