Dyer Cove


Dyer Cove (52˚11'09" 128˚28'16" W side of Athlone I, Milbanke Sd, W of Bella Bella), Dyer Rocks (48˚37'33" 123˚28'47" W side of Saanich Peninsula, S end of Vancouver I). Margaret Dyer (1841–1920) was the first white woman to settle on the Saanich Peninsula, in 1858. She was born in Scotland and came to Ft Victoria in 1853 with her mother and stepfather, Duncan Lidgate, an HBC carpenter.
