Dyke Point


Dyke Point (48˚26'56" 123˚26'23" E side of Esquimalt Hbr, W of Thetis Cove, S end of Vancouver I). Charles Dyke was 2nd lt aboard HMS Fisgard, on the Pacific Station, 1843–47, under Capt John Duntze. He retired from the RN in 1864 with the rank of cdr. Lt Cdr James Wood of HMS Pandora, who surveyed Esquimalt Hbr in 1847, named many of its features after the officers of the Fisgard.
