Ede Island

Ede Island (52˚30'00" 129˚02'00" Entrance to Weeteeam Bay, W side of Aristazabal I). 2nd Cpl Charles Ede was a member of the Columbia detachment of the Royal Engineers, which served in BC 1858–63. He arrived at Esquimalt in 1858 with Capt John Grant’s party and remained in the colony after the detachment was disbanded, though virtually nothing is known about his activities.
