Edith Point


Edith Point (48˚51'00" 123˚15'00" E side of Mayne I, Gulf Is). Edith Rebecca Cameron (1842–70) was the daughter of Chief Justice David and Cecilia Cameron, and niece of Sir James and Lady Douglas. In 1860 she married lawyer Henry Montagu Doughty (1841–1916), of Suffolk, England, who had served as an RN midshipman at Esquimalt and went on to write a number of books about travelling around Europe by boat. Her son, Lt Col Charles Doughty-Wylie, was awarded the VC at Gallipoli in WWI. See...
