Fifer Cove

Fifer Cove (52˚52'00" 128˚41'00" E side of Laredo Inlet, Princess Royal I). Dr Max William Fifer (1822–61) arrived at Ft Yale in 1858, where he was appointed HBC medical officer and later became chairman of the town council. He had earlier served in the US war with Mexico as a hospital steward, then made money as a gold miner before training as a doctor and setting up a practice in San Francisco.
