Florencia Bay

Florencia Bay (48˚59'00" 125˚38'00" N of Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I), Florencia Islet (48˚59'00" 125˚39'00" In Florencia Bay). The 200-tonne Florencia was a Peruvian brigantine, under Capt J P de Echiandeia, that capsized off Vancouver I in a Nov 1860 storm. Four people died and the vessel was badly damaged, but it righted itself and drifted into Nootka Sd, where it was pumped out and found to be repairable.
