Glide Islands (52˚58'00" 129˚29'00" E of Dewdney I, Estevan Group, Caamaño Sd). Henry Glide (1835–1921), born in Kent, England, came to Victoria in 1853 as a crew member aboard the HBC steamship Otter. He married Helen Lang (c 1845–97), who was from St Andrews, Scotland, at Victoria in 1861; she had come to BC in 1854 to join her father, Robert Lang.
