Goliath Bay


Goliath Bay (49˚50'00" 123˚56'00" SW side of Prince of Wales Reach, Jervis Inlet, NW of Vancouver). Named after the 74-gun HMS Goliath, built at Deptford in 1781, because it took part, under Capt Sir Charles Knowles, in the 1797 Battle of Cape St Vincent and was thus associated with Rear Adm Sir John Jervis, after whom Jervis Inlet is named.
