Goudge Island


Goudge Island (48˚41'00" 123˚24'00" Just E of the N end of Saanich Peninsula, N of Victoria). The name first appears on a 1904 chart based on a 1902 survey by Cdr Cortland Simpson of HMS Egeria. The 13-ha island was farmed in the 19th century by Tom Kamaree, a Hawaiian Islander or Kanaka, who received a Crown grant for it and adjacent Fernie I in 1889.
