Gower Point

Gower Point (49˚23'00" 123˚32'00" W entrance point to Howe Sd, NW of Vancouver). Adm Sir Erasmus Gower (c 1742–1814) was a member of two round-the-world voyages as a young officer, those of Cdr John Byron in HMS Dolphin (1764–66) and Capt Philip Carteret in HMS Swallow (1766–69).
