Grauer Beach


Grauer Beach (49˚03'00" 123˚02'00" W side of Boundary Bay, Delta, S of Vancouver). Jacob Grauer (1861–1936), a native of Württemberg, Germany, came to BC about 1883 after spending time in the US. He set up as a butcher in Vancouver in 1886, then moved in 1895 to a 120-ha farm on Sea I. About 1900 he also purchased 260 ha on Boundary Bay, where he grazed beef cattle and sheep, and grew feed for his Sea I dairy herds. Grauer’s meat products were later marketed under the Frasea Farms label....
