Grave Bay

Grave Bay (54˚30'00" 130˚14'00" E side of Work Channel, N of Prince Rupert). John Costello Grave, a former lt in the RN, brought the brigantine Eagle from England to Ft Vancouver on the Columbia R in 1827 for the HBC. In 1830, as master of the Eagle, he helped select the first site of Ft Simpson (originally known as Ft Nass) on the Nass R.
