Graveyard Bay

Graveyard Bay (49˚28'00" 124˚16'00" S side of Lasqueti I, Str of Georgia). A grave marker beside the bay denotes the resting place of Maggie Richardson, who died on Lasqueti in 1899 at the age of two. She was a daughter of Thomas and Janet Richardson, who lived nearby while Tom worked as a shepherd for an early sheep-raising venture on the island. The family left Lasqueti for Nanaimo in the early 1900s. Nearby Richardson Cove (qv) is named after them.
