Greig Island

Greig Island (48˚41'00" 123˚20'00" E of Coal I, off NE end of Saanich Peninsula, N of Victoria). A native of the Orkney Is, John Greig (1825–92) entered HBC service in 1844. At Ft Colville in the US he met his future wife, Margaret Goudie (1830–1914), daughter of HBC employee James Goudie and his First Nation wife, Catherine.
