Griffith Harbour


Griffith Harbour (53˚36'00" 130˚32'00" NW side of Banks I). Frederick H Griffith (1871–1922), from NB, worked for the Canadian Pacific Navigation Co early in his career and was listed aboard the steamship Amur in the 1901 census. He served as sailing master of CGS Lillooet, 1908–22, and made a number of hydrographic surveys near the Skeena R before dying aboard ship while involved in a survey of Hecate Str. The name was adopted in 1926.
