Gustavson Bay


Gustavson Bay (49˚39'30" 123˚39'00" N side of Salmon Inlet, E of Sechelt Inlet, NW of Vancouver). Four Gustavson brothers came to BC from Sweden in 1914 and worked as loggers on Vancouver I and with N Vancouver’s Capilano Timber Co. Two of them, Eric (d 1961) and Thure (1886–1967), became handloggers on Jervis and Sechelt inlets in the 1920s, and in 1929 took over the Regina Timber Co and its railway-logging operations at Misery Ck on Salmon Inlet, renaming the company Gustavson Bros...
