Haggard Cove (48˚58'00" 125˚01'00" N entrance to Alberni Inlet, Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Lt William Alvin Haggard, DCM (1921–84), of Tisdale, Sask, served in the S Sask Regiment in WWII. As a private he participated in the disastrous raid on Dieppe, where he won distinction for taking charge of his platoon, whose leader had been wounded, and, with another soldier, orchestrating a successful attack on an enemy machine-gun position.
