Halfmoon Bay (49˚30'00" 123˚56'00" SW side of Sechelt Peninsula, NW of Vancouver). The original form of this name, Half-Moon Bay, appeared on a 1912 Admiralty chart, the result of a 1910 survey. It was descriptive of the shape of the bay. Another variation, Half Moon Bay, was also in common use in the early 20th century.
