Harris Point

Harris Point (49˚00'00" 125˚19'00" E side of Toquart Bay, Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Civil engineer Dennis Reginald Harris (1851–1932) came to Canada in 1869 and worked as assistant surveyor for the Canada Central Rwy. He joined the CPR the following year, doing survey work on the N shore of Lk Superior and in the Hudson Bay region at first, then spent the years 1872–78 in BC, surveying between Howe Sd and Lillooet, and in the Bute Inlet, Chilcotin, Fraser Canyon and Kamloops...
