Hewitt Island


Hewitt Island (52˚52'00" 128˚30'00" N end of Hiekish Narrows and Sarah I, E of Princess Royal I), Hewitt Rock (52˚52'00" 128˚29'00" Just E of Hewitt I). Capt James Hewitt, of the schooner Goldstream, discovered the rock that bears his name while travelling to the QCI in 1866. He reported it to naval survey officials, and Lt Daniel Pender ensured that the hazard appeared on future Admiralty charts.
