Hope Point


Hope Point (53˚56'00" 133˚12'00" W side of Frederick I, off NW side of Graham I, QCI). The 65-tonne brigantine Hope made two 19th-century fur-trading expeditions to the QCI. The tiny vessel was owned by a pair of Boston merchants, Thomas Perkins and James Magee, and was commanded by Joseph Ingraham, who had been 1st mate aboard the Columbia Rediviva on its historic 1787–90 visit to the PNW and subsequent circumnavigation of the globe.
