Hosie Islands (48˚54'00" 125˚02'00" In Numukamis Bay, Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). John Hosie (1880–1934), a native of Edinburgh, was BC’s provincial librarian and archivist, 1926–34. He came to BC in 1912 and began working for the provincial library that year, spending the period 1919–26 in charge of the legislative reference bureau. Hosie edited several works on BC history and was author of The Arbutus Tree, a chapbook of poetry.
