Howe Bay


Howe Bay (52˚01'00" 131˚02'00" E side of Kunghit I, QCI). Lt Richard S Howe was the capt’s clerk and owners’ representative (or supercargo), aboard the Columbia Rediviva on its first fur-trading voyage to the PNW, 1787–90. Unlike John Hoskins, his successor on the Columbia’s second voyage (see Hoskins Its), Howe was able to maintain cordial and professional relations with the expedition’s leaders.
