Humphreys Point


Humphreys Point (53˚02'00" 129˚32'00" E side of Lotbinière I, Estevan Group, SE of Banks I). Named after Caroline Watkins (1852–1926), born in Wales, who came to Canada with her family in 1862. She married Thomas Basil Humphreys (1840–90) at Victoria in 1873. He had arrived in BC from Liverpool in 1858 to search for gold but became a policeman instead at Ft Hope and Port Douglas, then a miner and auctioneer.
