Illahie Inlet (51˚39'00" 127˚50'00" NE of Addenbroke I, Fitz Hugh Sd, opposite Calvert I). Illahie means “country,” “land” or “earth” in Chinook jargon, the pidgin language used on the W coast by First Nation groups and early traders and settlers. Why this word was applied to the inlet is unclear. Illahee Meadows, E of Clinton, derives its name from the same source.
