Ioco (49˚18'00" 122˚52'00" N side of Port Moody, E end of Burrard Inlet, E of Vancouver). The Imperial Oil Co began building its refinery here in 1914, and company vice-president C O Stillman dubbed the site Ioco after the initial letters of the company’s name. An employee townsite was constructed in 1920, and a pipeline connected the plant to Alberta in 1953. The refinery closed down in 1995, and the site was converted to a bulk storage facility.
