Iona Island

Iona Island (49˚13'00" 123˚12'00" Mouth of Fraser R, N of Sea I). The original name for this feature was Mole I. Then it was called McMillan I after Donald Allan McMillan (1848–1901), who settled there in 1885. McMillan gave the island its current name, which commemorates the remote spot in the Inner Hebrides where St Columba founded his influential Celtic monastery in 563.
